It started a few years ago. Trendy metropolitan restaurants created a drink that went into a martini glass but didn't resemble one in taste or appearance. The drink? The Cosmopolitan.

Over ice and in a mixing glass, pour 2 oz. of vodka, 1 oz. Cointreau, a splash of cranberry and a splash of lime juice. Stir/mix, and then strain into a martini glass.
