Vegetarian Black Bean Burger

1 (15 ounce) can no-salt added black beans, drained
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
3 green onions, chopped
1 cup salsa
1 carrot
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Nonstick cooking spray
Lettuce, tomato, and onion
1 OROWEAT Cracked Wheat Bun split

Steam sliced carrot until soft. Combine carrot and black beans in a large bowl and mash together. Add remaining ingredients and salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Shape into 6 patties. (Additional flour or salsa can be added if needed to reach desired consistency.)

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook over medium heat about 5-8 minutes per side until lightly brown.

Makes 6 Servings
