People just aren't born with voices like the late great Janis Joplin. You have to earn them. And Janis sure did with Lord knows how many whiskeys and Southern Comforts. That's why it's only fitting that we toast her on her birthday with the hair of the dog that bit her on more than one occasion.

The birthday drink is a shot, called the Southern Comfort Kamikaze. In a mixing cup over ice, pour 1 1/4 oz. Southern Comfort, 3/4 oz. Triple Sec, and close the deal with 1 oz. of lime juice. Let it chill for a second, then strain into a shot glass and "take another little piece of your liver now, baby!"
